Kingdom of Beorg is one of the playable fractions in Herd of the Sleipnir. Beorg Is located on the north part of the massive isle. The only neighbour to them is the Mearc and Æmenne, this kingdom is the hardest to survive in and consists of the most powerful and largest horses!

Patron

Beorg is considered one of the first kingdoms, royal, strong and proud. Which is why the royal blue Gryphon is the patron of this kingdom, being both heroic but at the same time intimidating. It is said this creature still lives on Star Peak mountain! Yet no one knows for sure.

Culture and Members

Members of this kingdom are known to be rough and rough, with a small dose of stiffness and seriousness. Horses in Beorg heavily believe they come from the purest bloodline coming from Sleipnir, which is why they cherish their strength, size and feathers on their legs. Horses most commonly wear weapons and armour as they believe they should always be ready to serve the kingdom they live in. They follow orders greatly and make amazing soldiers.

Horses in Beorg are proud of their build and can sometimes be a little nasty to the breeds they consider "weak" yet it is quite common for the Beorg stallions to have an incredible weakness for the slim and petite mares from other kingdoms.

Manners

As the Beorg horses are known for their serious expressions greeting each other is commonly a simple nod or "Good day" type of phrase. Simple and that's enough. These horses are more interested in training and becoming stronger, serving the kingdom and or course protecting each other. No time for small talk. Still when the horses have conversations they have them in a very straight forward manner, Beorg horses rarely understand gossip or any sort of "play" on words.

Even tho the two Kings of Beorg are lean horses, they both posses strength and wisdom which allows the Beorg horses to be a little more open to the slimmer kind. Most of them are huge and it's very uncommon to see a 14.2 HH horse in these areas.

Society

Kings are the rulers of Beorg like any other kingdom. They give orders, they keep the horses safe and happy.

Guards and Soldiers are the majority in Beorg as this kingdom's priority is safety and somewhat intimidation. These horses are treated very well by everyone and honoured by any common horse. They tend to wear armour and carry weapons of any type such as swords, daggers and axes.

Merchants are a very small but wealthy group of horses in Beorg they are the most open ones with the least armour but still big, stiff and scary to newcomers in some cases. They focus on selling the goods Beorg has to offer like pelts, leather, armour and weapons!

Hunters, Beorg has a lot of dangerous wildlife which makes the life of the horses kind of hard including the hash weather and cold. A lot of animals like to sneak into the areas where horses live.. which can end up bad. Hunters are here to control the animal population and bring in important materials for trading.

Healers are another small group in Beorg, simply due to the hash climate it's hard to gather herbs. The ground is mostly rock and dirt not much soil for healing herbs. Yet these horses still are here to bring in help, they mostly rely on spiritual healing consisting of rituals, healing massages and other methods of keeping the horses healthy. These horses don't wear any armour and most commonly wear robes, backpacks with herbs and necklaces made of bones to strengthen their spiritual powers.

Common members, these are all the horses living withing the kingdom. They can have many jobs and mostly consist of small families, young adults that have recently achieved the status of a Leader so they can start their own family.

Stallions tend to appear as berserk's or brutes wearing armour, weapons, pelts and leather to emphasise their size and strength. Studs here tend to be very strong, muscular and overall extremely fit. They train a lot which makes them very healthy. It is common for stallions to also paint their heads and body with war paint, simply to scare off anyone with shady intentions. With such a hash look they actually can be very warm and soft in personality, most commonly showing it to their loved ones by spending a lot of time with their families.

Mares are much slimmer but commonly sport feathers, in some occasions they don't tho it rarely takes away any part of their beauty. Stallions aren't very picky with what they have on their table yet the ladies like to show off their strength as well. It's common for mares to wear pelts and other leather wares. If they want to get flashy they wear jewellery made of wood, stone or gemstones. They have a much friendlier exterior to their male counterparts.

Foals most commonly are very fluffy and chubby due to bigger doses of the mothers milk to keep them healthy. They tend to wear simple scarfs or small leather guards on their legs for protection. It's very rare for the families to have more then 3 foals here, as the hash winter and low amount of food during the cold season doesn't help the families focus on one or two foals. This makes it easier to raise big sized horses as they get all the nutrition's. Foals most commonly stay close to their mothers, occasionally they meet up in small groups but are still watched over by their mothers.

Health and Education

Horses in Beorg are very fit and have extremely high resistance to any illness yet it is not uncommon to come across the flu season with mainly mares and foals having a bit of a drippy nose. They easily overcome this within a week or two, if not the Healers will help them with spirit rituals and herb tea.

Education in Beorg focuses on Reading runes,
speech and training to become a guard. Even if the horse won't be one it's best for any foal to have basic training in survival, tactics and overall military school style.
Yet this is not as strict for foals as it's for young adults.

Homes and Living Arrangements

Beorg features one of the more unique households as the horses tend to convert caves into houses. Sometimes drilling into the mountains to create more space, they also have stone and wooden households. Mainly decorated with stone and wood carvings, animals bones and pelts. They are very simple yet extremely cosy and warm!

Births, Engaging, Weddings, and Funerals

Birth - During pregnancy and birth mares mainly stay at home to keep the foal and mom safe. Outside there is the hash climate which is a no go. Beorg horses commonly give birth in houses with the help of the herbalist, stallions are mostly absent during this time so the mare and the healer can do this. They rather wait in another room and support the future mother from afar, mainly to not show their weakness in front of another horse like the healer.

Engaging - Engaging in Beorg is honestly one of the most straight forward things out there. If a couple loves each other the stallion will go hunting, specifically he will hunt for the biggest predator out there. Either the Dire wolf or bear. Later he will prepare the hide and make it into a warm cape, decorated with leather straps and flower scent to fit the mare. He will gift it to her, if she accepts she will wear this cape till the moment she will get married. If not, the stallion will most likely turn the hide into leather and sell it to lift his mind off the sad emotions.

Weddings - Weddings in Beorg are a very happy time for the horses, as it shows that future generations will come. It's the only time when both genders get more extravagant with their decorations. Yet it all follows the same theme "snow". Most weddings happen during winter and both the mare and stallion wear white. Mares wear leather decorations that are dyed white, white cloth straps , cape, long scarf or a full on dress. Stallions tend to stick to the white scarf with some small decorations like wolf claws as buttons and such. The ceremony is lead by the kings, once it ends the couple can either party or return home, for a couple of days they stay together not leaving the household to make the bond even stronger.

Funerals - Funerals in Beorg are treated as an honour for the horse that has passed. Meaning it fulfilled it's duty here in Eoh and can now live amongst gods! The horse that has passed is commonly burned and it's ashes are thrown from the top of Star peak. Letting the horse's spirit to travel the land once more before they are truly gone forever. Not doing this is usually treated as a sign of bad luck or even a curse.

Could my stallion join as a Soldier? Or does he have to earn the rank?
